Interior Design on a Budget: Mydesignguide.com

If you have ever dreamed of working with a professional interior designer, or are just overwhelmed by your current project, mydesignguide.com could be the solution for you. I stumbled upon it last week and was so excited about the possibilities, I had to share.

http://www.mydesignguide.com/gallery/index.php

The company's founders, Champe Granger and Roger Bouchar,  developed the site because they wanted an affordable interior design option, and wanted to use easily available off the shelf products. They ask you some simple easy to answer questions to help define your style and then give you different levels of advise depending on the information you provide.

At Indiana Rug Company and Textile Fabrication Inc. we celebrate a decorated life--sometimes, fast and well priced is just what you need. With that said, don't overlook local shops in your area , offering binding services.

Area Rug TipWhen shopping for area rugs, many times you just need a rug the right size to make a room perfect and often, you can pick up a rug from a remnant shop and have the rugs edges finished or bound in a week or maybe less. If your looking for options in Michiana, IN area contact indianarugco.com today.

Based out of Richmond, Virginia all the design expertise comes from accredited interior designer. Your dreams can happen in as little as a week and as inexpensive as in mydesignguide.com can help you find your style again. Check it out.

Part II Delivery

As you can see , these couches are different in style but work well together to create a southwest feel simply through coordinating cushions. You don't have to be matchy-matchy to make things flow in a room. Don't underestimate the power of small changes to a rooms decor--like fresh pillows.

Delivery

Here's a great neutral couch that left the upholstery department recently. We made custom pillows that tie two different style couches together for the client's space. Check back for the next part of this post.

Floral Hooked Pillow

This is a primitive hooked floral pillow by Pam Richardes at Indiana Rug and Textile Fabrication. It's the glimmer of Spring on the horizon for me since the weather is gloomy outside here in Mishawaka, and we are expecting another round of snow. After a thaw and rain storm last night, I'm so happy to see this reminder-- Spring is on the way. Thank you Pam!

Tango Tangerine Treasury List at Clear Frills

I fell in love with a Large Abstract TREE painting in mimistudio's Shop !

It's all about an organic subject but has a vibrancy of color that captures the excitement of investigating our natural world with a song.

Mimistudio's Shop on Etsy

Here's what she has to say about her work.
I am a watercolor artist who loves creating colorful modern wall art to decorate your home. Buy impressionistic & abstract watercolor paintings in many genres. Be sure to check out all my art galleries and shop sections to find the perfect modern artwork. Contemporary themes for sale include landscapes, animal art, and mixed media collages.
I am always happy to take on custom commissions for portrait and non-portrait subjects.

Even better than that, she does custom orders that you can review before shipping!

I wanted to share some finds on Indiana Rug and Textile Fabrication's online shop Clear Frills. I hope you find them as irresistable as myself! Check out our latest Treasury List.

Pebble Rug Gem

Today, I had a pleasant surprise come across the work floor in  a piece from Kane Carpet. It is a cut and loop piece with great potential as part of a custom area rug-- offering the pebble texture. It is seen here just as a bound finished piece and is admittedly striking as a stand alone rug should you be looking for a subtle rug with a  natural feel.  Remember simple custom bound rugs can be made to any size or shape.

This piece is from Kane's Exciting Journey's Collection in Expedition. It comes 13'2" wide if your considering something like this for your own project.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I found this great printable at mypapercrane.com . It was actually a post from last year, but I just loved it.
I was going to make just two, one for my niece and my daughter, but they we're too cute. I ended making one for my whole family.

The Studio Table Saga

So, I got a little carried away with a table project in my studio. Sometimes, I just get an idea in my head and then I'm obsessed or possessed. I'm not really sure how to look at it. I found this picture of a studio space table that would solve some space problems I've been having here on pinterest .

As seen on Heather Martin's craft ideas pinterest board

Unfortunately, my tirade started just as the next session of my surface design class was starting up.  And of course, it entailed reorganizing some other areas of my home studio.

I'll spare you the monotony of details, but woo hoooo! I've finished the project!

Handmade Holiday Recap

Who hasn't read a craft blog out in cyberspace cataloging the projects they wish to do one day? The truth is sometimes life just does its thing even when the most intentional plan is in place; it takes you someplace else. I had hoped to share my love of handmade gifts at holiday time (for me that's a big part of what the holidays are all about). But because life is life... instead of  giving you all the details of items I intended to make, I'm going to share a few things I made for my daughter. Yes, including the Sew What! Skirts I previewed last month. I hope you enjoy. It's time to move on...

A New Year!

Oh my! Sometimes life has a way of slipping by, and I guess that's what has happened here...

Amongst Christmas, my daughter's second Birthday, 2 of  the nastiest back to back colds I've had in a long time, and sheer exhaustion, I've been silent in the blog world much longer than I could have ever imagined. Something had to give, but I'm back to wish all a much belated Happy New Year!

Looking forward, I'm excited to explore some site redesign projects here. It's had an ad hock vibe from the start and is in some desperate need of some tightening up. Equally, I am excited about designing some purses/bags for Indiana Rug's upcoming art shows. Projects like these are enjoyable and help me stay creative.

Speaking of creative, Holly Becker of  decor8blog.com recently posted a great article about Domotex, the worlds largest flooring trade show in Hanover, Germany. I personally feel grateful to Holly because it was her blogging e-course that motivated me to start blogging in the first place.
According to Holly, The theme of Domotex for 2012 was, “Customized Living”, which is what I’m all about – making design more personal to the homeowner.
